Pushpa 2 by Allu Arjun had an extraordinary run at the box office since the time it was released on December 5th. It accumulated INR 1200 crore domestically. After 47 days, however, the theatre earnings started to decline, and Monday’s collection drop was to INR 65 lakhs, the lowest so far.
Pushpa 2 Had a Record-Breaking Journey
Since its debut, Pushpa 2, which starred Rashmika Mandanna and Allu Arjun, has broken multiple records. It even became the domestic box office’s highest-grossing Hindi movie, which surely was a significant milestone in the impressive run. As of now, the total collection of the movie stands at approx. ₹1228.90 crores, and the Hindi version of the movie led the revenue. The version is followed by the Telugu version.
Pushpa 2 Earnings Decline Despite Re-Release
Despite all the sustained success of approx. a month and a half, Pushpa 2 now shows signs of losing steam. It was for the first time daily earnings dipped down INR 1 crore, thereby signaling the beginning of the movie’s box office dominance’s end.
The filmmakers recently made a release of Pushpa 2’s reloaded version. It featured the previous cut content. However, the strategy didn’t have much impact on the movie and its earnings. However, it’s being said that if this release of the extended version was made approximately before or around New Year’s Eve, it might have drawn many more viewers and thereby extended the movie’s lifespan at the box office.
Pushpa 2 in Competition with the New Releases
Amidst the upcoming new movies, Emergency did perform better than the other released movie titled Azaad. However, the overall performance is still considered to be just below average.
Now, with Pushpa 2 approaching the end of its theatrical run, its legacy as the blockbuster has already been secured. It didn’t have any impact on the recent slowdowns within the collections.
