Back in Action movie, the Netflix movie starring Cameron Diaz, is gaining the hype it should. Diaz, with it, has made her notable return to acting after the 10-year hiatus. She stars alongside Jamie Foxx. It was during The Graham Norton Show, wherewith her recent appearance, Diaz prompted about her return.
Cameron Diaz: Why Did She Choose to Return?
To reflect upon her decade-long break, Diaz made a statement. She stated, “I had 10 years of not paying attention to anything, not accepting any offers. Then, I got this script and thought maybe it was time.” The decision to re-engage within the film industry came in after a lot of contemplation, as per Diaz. For her, the entire credit goes to Jamie Foxx, who played a significant factor in her return.
Diaz said, “If I was going to leave my family for 10 hours a day, I wanted to do it with the most talented man in the entertainment business.” She expressed her admiration for her co-star.
Foxx and Diaz’s chemistry on-screen dates back to the previous collaborations these actresses made within Any Given Sunday in 1999 and Annie’s adaptation in 2014.
Cameron Diaz Decade Away from Camera
Even though Diaz had stepped back from acting previously. She wasn’t leading a quiet life. She did embrace the role of a mother and a wife. She raised 2 kids with her husband, musician Benji Madden. Additionally, Cameron Diaz also ventured into entrepreneurship and writing, thereby proving her versatility as well as success beyond the silver screen.
She explained, “I loved those 10 years for me and my family.” For her, the time away from the limelight was valuable, but there was an urge to return. She added, “If I let this opportunity slip away without giving it a chance, I’d regret it.”
Back in Action Was a Second Chance
Diaz did express her heartfelt appreciation as she returned to acting. She said, “It is a privilege to make films, and we are all so lucky to do what we do.” She is truly grateful for the opportunity to step back into Hollywood. Diaz then acknowledged how rare it is within the industry to welcome the star back after they have had such a long absence from the industry.
