The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 edition starts today (Wednesday) with the host nation, Pakistan, taking on New Zealand in 1st game at the National Stadium in Karachi. 7 out of 8 compelling nations will be playing in Pakistan. India is the only country that can play the games in Dubai under a hybrid model. As the arch-rivals are put in the same group, the big India vs Pakistan group stage game will be held on Sunday, February 23rd, in Dubai. Also joining Asian giants in Group A are Bangladesh and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, England, Australia, South Africa and Afghanistan are in Group B. Only 2 teams from each of the groups will be making it to the semis. ICC Champions Trophy matches will be starting at Pakistan Standard Time 14:00 (14:30 IST).
If India qualifies for the semis, the semi-final 1 will include India. On the other hand, if Pakistan will qualify, semi-final 2 will include Pakistan. As India refused to travel to Pakistan for political and security reasons, if India qualifies for the Champions Trophy final, the match will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium or at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
