WWE SmackDown energy, as it rolled out in Barcelona for the 1st time, was electric. It delivered the perfect night of shocking betrayals, jaw-dropping action, and championship implications. From the LA Knight defending turn to The Bloodline causing havoc, let us break down the highlights of this historic event.

LA Knight Kicks off the WWE SmackDown, but The Bloodline Had Other Plans

The night began with the raucous Barcelona crowd, which chanted “Olé” with LA Knight all soaked in their energy. With the fresh-off reclaiming the championship, Knight didn’t waste any time reminding everyone that WWE SmackDown and the title both belonged to him. However, before he is able to celebrate too much, he gets interrupted by Jimmy Uso, demanding the shot at gold.

Then Solo Sikoa entered. He dismissed Jimmy as he claimed Jacob Fatu did deserve this opportunity. Fists flew, tensions flared, and before too long, Braun Strowman, he stormed down, even odds. Nick Aldis, General Manager of SmackDown, wasted no time as he made it official—The Bloodline vs. LA Knight, Jimmy Uso, and Braun Strowman within the six-man tag match… that started right then!

Six-Man Tag Team Match- The Bloodline vs. LA Knight, Jimmy Uso, and Braun Strowman

It was the battle of bad blood and brute force. Solo and Jimmy kicked things right off, but Fatu made his presence felt as he used his signature hard-hit style. The Bloodline controlled much of the match till LA Knight rallied back by setting up Strowman for the game-changing hot tag.

The Monster, amidst the men, cleaned house as they bulldozed through The Bloodline before they planted Tama Tonga with the devastating running power for getting the win.

LA Knight, Jimmy Uso, & Braun Strowman became the Winners

Celebration, however, was short-lived as Strowman got blindsided by Fatu as he launched himself off the barricade with the monstrous moonsault! The 2 behemoths then brawled outside the ring, crashing through the announce table within the chaotic scene, which left the Barcelona crowd completely stunned.

Truth Unfolded with Naomi vs. Jade Cargill

The viewers got the emotional sit-down interview. Jade Cargill finally addressed Naomi’s shocking betrayal. Jade was visibly frustrated. He accused Naomi of turning her back on the friendship just for selfish reasons.

Just as things seemed to have not gotten more heated, Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan interrupted. They mocked Jade for the misfortune. The tensions started to flare. It led to Jade going out and challenging Liv Morgan for SmackDown’s next week match.

Charlotte Flair vs B-Fab was more than just a match

B-Fab got the chance to prove herself against the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble winner. However, Charlotte Flair did have some other plans. After she dominated most of the ongoing match, Flair finally locked in Figure Eight, as she forced B-Fab to tap.

However, the Queen was not done. She refused to release the hold and sent a clear message to Tiffany Stratton. The message was loud and clear as she stored the ring of SmackDown Women’s champion. It led to a wild brawl between Stratton and Flair that was to be broken multiple times by security.

Drew Mclntyre’s Path for WrestleMania Took Ugly Turn

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Damian Priest was meant to be the classic. However, Drew Mclntyre seemed to have other ideas. In the middle of the match, the ring was stormed while laying waste to Priest. It caused a disqualification.

Priest did try fighting back, but Drew’s Claymore Kick was waiting for him. It sent a clear message that he was not done hunting for revenge.

Statement win achieved with Randy Orton vs. Carmelo Hayes

Randy Orton returned to the singles action as against Carmelo Hayes and the Barcelona crowd; it was behind The Viper firmly. Hayes showed resilience, but the vintage RKO sealed the deal for Orton.

After the match, a handshake was offered by Orton, but it was disrespected by Hayes. It, out of nowhere, led to another RKO. Just when Orton was looking at the delivery of the brutal punt kick, Kevin Owens appeared to the safety of Hayes, setting the stage for the heated rivalry.

Gunther vs. Axiom: The Surprise Showdown

Gunther, who is never the one to shy away from the fight, issued the open challenge. It was one that got answered by their own Axiom of Spain! The Barcelona crowd exploded as Axiom took the fight right to the Intercontinental Champion.

Axiom showed technical ability and speed. However, the brutal chops of Gunther and the power proved to be too much. A devastating Powerbomb later on, and the Gunther was seen walking out victoriously.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: #DIY (c) vs. The Street Profits

Within the main event, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano defended their SmackDown Tag Team Titles against The Street Profits. The fight was an intense back-and-forth battle. It included some high-profile offenses from Montez Ford and the brutal #DIY technical wrestling.

Just right when it seemed like Profits had titles in the reach, Ciampa hit a Fairy Tale Ending on Ford, allowing Gargano to follow up with the One Final Beat for a hard-fought victory.

Final Moments: WrestleMania Road Intensifies

SmackDown went off the air. It led to chaos erupting backstage between the rivals and The Bloodline. With Jacob Fatu vs. Braun Strowman officially set for the upcoming week, Cody Rhodes and John Cena have also seen a looming confrontation. 

The debut of SmackDown in Barcelona delivered non-stop action with a lot of surprises and WrestleMania implications; altogether, it made it the perfect night for the WWE Universe that one wouldn’t forget anytime soon!
