After the 2-long-years wait, Alice in Borderland is expected to soon return with the much-anticipated 3rd season. The Japanese language Netflix hit series has already built a strong fanbase that’s eager for the new episodes.

The show episodes follow the life of a young man and his friends, who get trapped within a parallel universe. They are forced to participate in the deadly games for their survival. Now, despite the popularity, 16 episodes only have aired over 2 seasons in the 4 years.

Alice in Borderland Season 3 Update

In September 2023, Netflix formally renewed season three of Alice in Borderland. Soon after, the season’s filming got underway.

The show’s fans saw its posters in Tokyo prior to the official announcement of the upcoming season. The excitement was heightened by the poster, which hinted at the show’s return.

According to Hybebeast, Alice in Borderland Season 2 became the most-watched Japanese Netflix series when it debuted in 2022.

Filming for Season 3 was originally scheduled for September 2023–February 2024. However, in May 2024, the production was still going on, according to Reddit updates.

Alice in Borderland Season 3 Release Date Speculation

In November 2024, Netflix confirmed that Season 3 would be available in 2025. But as of yet, no precise date has been given. Fans would predict the release date of the upcoming season if we looked at previous seasons.

Filming for Season 2 of Alice in Borderland concluded in March 2022. Nine months later, in December, it was made available. Season 3 would be released in the middle of 2025 if it were to follow the previous schedule and be finished late in 2024.

However, the release is likely to be postponed until the end of 2025 if the filming continues into that year. Given that both of the previous seasons debuted in December, it is likely that Season 3 will do the same in December 2025.
